Summary
EPDs are sometimes generic, that is to say they provide sectoral information, or specific information. In the latter case, they provide information specific to the production of a single company. EPDs can provide information based on a life cycle analysis 1- from cradle to grave, 2- from cradle to factory gate or 3- from factory gate to door of the factory. This situation makes the selection of materials approximate in a context of reducing the environmental footprint of buildings. The project will aim to analyze a strictly EPD-based environmental design with a life cycle analysis. This exercise will identify the strengths and weaknesses of the EPD approach in design.
