Summary
Warranty programs are key to the security of mind of a new home buyer. However, it appears that these are very complex contracts because they take into account many aspects of the construction, i.e. the choice of materials, the quality of implementation, site conditions, the financial health of the contractor and many others. In collaboration with the Association of Construction and Housing Professionals of Quebec (APCHQ), a map of Canada's main warranty systems will be studied, classified and characterized for their technical content and management system. This exercise aims to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of each system and to make a proposal on a system that takes advantage of these observations.
